Peer Mentors

Alexa Santana is a junior from New York on a pre-med track. She recently completed a medical mission in the Caribbean and hopes to become a doctor one day. 




Emily Wendel

Emily Wendel is a senior studying Biology and Public Health. Emily is the TA in Step 1 classes, and she is also involved on campus with DEM (a pre-health fraternity), club tennis, and research through the biology department. After graduation, Emily plans on pursuing either graduate or medical school.




Helen Palatianos is a junior from Gaithersburg, Maryland. She is majoring in Human Services and would like to go into teaching or counseling for middle school students.




Lauren Calderoni

Lauren Calderoni is from Long Island, New York. She is a junior in the Columbian College of Arts and Sciences majoring in Psychology and minoring in STEM Education through GWTeach. She aspires to teach in a classroom one day and have her actions resonate with students to make a difference in their lives.





Shelly Mishra is a junior from a suburb near Boston, Massachusetts. She is majoring in Biology and minoring in Chemistry and Applied Ethics. Shelly is involved in the UNICEF club at GW and does research at SEH.
